Effective business discussions (Успешное деловое общение). (Minutes)

Minutes of the meeting held at the Head Office of Miller, on
Oct. 13-05.
Subject: New office buildings
Present: Mr Chester: Chairman                 Absent: Mr Macquire
Ms Shawn: Public relations       Guest:  Mr Horst
               Mr Wells: Human Resources
               Mr Jones: Financial Director
               Mrs Simpson: Secretary
The chairman opened the meeting, confirmed theminutes of the last meeting
and underlined the importance of coming toa decision. He asked Mr Jones to
start the discussion by giving hisopinion on the building site.
Mr Jones said he had investigated the area and thought that theaccessibility
was a problem. He added that a new motorway was plannedbut that this plan
would take too long to wait for. Mr Wells suggestedto look for another location
and reminded the board of the extratraveling time this site would imply
Не continued to say that he was already
working many extra hours. Thechairman interrupted him and summoned
(призвал, настоятельно попросил)him to stick to the subject. Ms Shawn
agreed with Mr Wells and stressedthe importance of the vicinity (близость) of
an airport or railwaystation, considering the international character of the
company. MrJones objected to this because he thought these places were too
expensive.

Hecontinued ... He then pointed out ... Mr X went on by saying ... Heconcluded by observing that ...
